For three weeks, my only sources of news have been German-speaking tourists and a weekly Windhoek newspaper. So all I know is that there’s a French railway-worker strike, some parts of South Africa experienced flooding, and a Namibian man died when a warthog hole he'd crawled into capsized on him.
So what have I been missing? Anything good?
You are missing all the election fun over here. Can't you get the NYT online?

May be for the best that you're far from all the news. It's that crazy time of the fall.
ReplyDeleteWe have two very large groups of people facing off that truly cannot stand each other; who way deep down in the pits of their guts just despise everything that the other stands for. We've got villains, heroes, some very crazy throngs of completely insane nutcases, large men with even larger egos, a few excitable women, strategists drafting plans. Crowds spewing venomous chants and joining together in heart-pumping cheers.
That's rihgt, it's LSU vs. Auburn time, of course. And yeah, there're some folks doing some politicking.
