Day 30: Northern Namibia

After many sad goodbyes, I left the guest farm and began my camping tour of northern Namibia. I have a great guide named Manny and only one other traveler, a 59-year-old Parisian named Dominique, who speaks very limited English.

We slept last night at AfriCat, a rehabilitation center for orphaned or injured cheetah and leopard. The camp site was lovely... showering under the stars! I was awoken early this morning by shouting baboons, but it was a wonderful location. I'm becoming an expert on the cheetah, leopard, and wild game. My favorites are the giraffes and steenbok, which are amazing.

Today and tomorrow we are in Etosha National Park, where the game viewing (especially this time of year) is supposed to be the best in southern Africa. Now I wish I had borrowed Andrea's camera... and brought binoculars!

Hope all is well in the states. See you all soon...
