As I walked, I heard the rumble of hooves and an oryx crossed my path. Maybe I had eaten his father the day before. And for the rest of the hike, everywhere I went, there were herds of animals running away. The only ones that dared approach were the flies. But it was very beautiful and a great way to clear my mind.

Day 11: Hiking in the Mountains
As I walked, I heard the rumble of hooves and an oryx crossed my path. Maybe I had eaten his father the day before. And for the rest of the hike, everywhere I went, there were herds of animals running away. The only ones that dared approach were the flies. But it was very beautiful and a great way to clear my mind.

Hey, thanks for the shots. They're really taking the 'spare and ruggedly beautiful landscape' game to new levels there. Sounds so romantic - a morning rising early to trek out into the bush... wait a minute. Waking at 7 am? A hike first thing in the morning?

Matt, I think we may also have a carnivorous conversion going on here. A new Ms. Boucher indeed...
